Helping out our neighbors
You may be wondering how you can help all the victims from Hurricane Sandy. Well the Art is You retreat group I am involved in has this fabulous way of helping. Here is all you need to do:
1. Visit this link:
http://www.art-is-you.com/mysitecaddy/site3/artis...hurricanesandyreliefprogram.htm
2. Click on the Donate now button. Doesn't matter what or how much, you just need to make a donation.
3. Come back here and post that you have donated. I don't need to know what or how much. In your post be sure to put your email address so I can be in touch with you. At the end of the month I will randomly pick three names to win a special hand made prize.

Happy Valentine's Day
Is it necessary to spend a bunch of money to show someone you love them? Or go out and buy some gift that doesn't really mean anything?
I choose to make my boyfriend a gift. Granted I was making it with him sitting in the same room with me. But what am I to do since my "studio" is my couch and my section of the coffee table? I purchased some bones online for his collection. (We already have 4 different sculls in our living room.) He is a biology teacher so what else would we have a decoration?? I didn't want to give him just a bunch of bones so made a "cave" for them to sit in.

It is a canvas with hole cut into the middle of it and a box added to the middle so I could have a place to make a cave, which was made out of paperclay. I sculpted the bird out of Apoxi Clay and attached one of the rib bones to it's beak. There is a scull, leg bones, rib bones, and vertebra added thru out the canvas. I also attached some crystals we dug up a few years ago when we went mining.
He liked it and we currently have it sitting on the shelf above our TV.
He gave me a frog lunch bag. I love frogs so it is the cutest thing ever. I already brought it to work with my lunch in it. Everyone there thought it was cute as well and that it totally fit me.
